We are a progressive company that embraces the values of a non-racial South African society and recognises the importance of being active participants in Black Economic Empowerment (BEE). This philosophy informs our approach to ownership and control, employment equity, skills development and corporate social investment programmes.

As a socially responsible corporate citizen, Novare Equity Partners endeavours to contribute to the development of under-privileged communities.

Our flagship project is a partnership with the Imagine Scholar school in the rural Nkomazi region of South Africa, located in the eastern part of the Ehlanzeni District Municipality of the Mpumalanga Province.

Imagine Scholar is an educational and leadership development programme for inspired youth from Nkomazi. It cultivates local talent, and empowers people early on to be the drivers of change in their communities.

Imagine Scholar is an intensive five-year mentorship programme for highly motivated secondary school students. Students attend Imagine Scholar classes six times a week on top of their public schooling schedule. Through a unique curriculum, students enhance critical thinking, build character, develop effective communication skills, and create social entrepreneurship projects.

Imagine Scholar prepares students to excel at university and professionally. Most importantly, it empowers young leaders to act as catalysts for personal change and to provide a service to their communities.

While still studying at Imagine Scholar, students spend time job shadowing Novare staff at our Johannesburg office. Our staff also travel to the school for one-on-one and group discussion workshops, assisting the students, amongst other things, to develop life skills.

In addition to our financial contributions to the school, we offer bursaries to Imagine Scholar graduates to assist with further studies, after which they have the opportunity to become an intern at Novare Equity Partners to gain work experience.

The focus of the programme on investing in the development of South Africa's future leaders, and the benefits it brings to the broader community were aspects that encouraged Novare Equity Partners to support this project.
