Novare Equity Partners makes Africa appointments

Novare, the specialist African investment management company, has announced several appointments including in Ghana and Nigeria where the group’s private equity business, Novare Equity Partners, is growing fast.

Hein du Plessis has been appointed Project Manager by Novare Equity Partners its Nigerian office in Lagos.

A BComm graduate, Hein started his career at Sanlam Employee Benefits as a fund administrator. He went on to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, gaining experience as part of the operational executive committee. In 2010 he joined Novare as chief operating officer of the Group’s African pension fund asset management business, based in Lagos. Hein joined Novare Equity Partners in January 2013 as project manager for Nigeria.

Jan van Zyl has been appointed Head of Property Development at Novare Equity Partners in Ghana.

He holds a BSc degree and worked in various capacities in Mozambique, Ethiopia and the DRC before relocating to Cape Town in 2009 to complete his MBA at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town. Jan was recruited by Shoprite in 2010 as its business development manager for Nigeria and Ghana. He joined Novare in February 2013 as head of property development.

Elize Botha joined Novare Holdings in March 2013 as a Marketing Assistant. With a diploma in Marketing Management, Elize will work mainly on marketing projects for Novare Equity Partners and provide support to the head of marketing in the overall marketing duties for the group.
